The Friday Night Cafe takes place at the Cummington Village Church, 32 Main Street, on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from September to June. In this time of COVID-19, instead of a live show at the cafe, performers have the option of making “at home” audio only, self-recordings with whatever tools they have available: from phones to recording studios. We will be posting a collection of these recordings once each month on the fourth Friday. Looking ahead, we are exploring the possibility of live streaming until we can safely return to “real” live music.
Each month there is a theme. Performers interpret the theme as they wish and submit their recordings. The theme for February is “Rest.” This month we have three offerings:
First up is our friend Louise Mosrie Coombe with her beautiful, heartbreaking song “Leave Your Gun”.
We were very pleased to receive this offering from the inimitable Brendan Leowolf: his cover of the Townes Van-Zandt song “You Are Not Needed Now”.
We will close with One Part Luck and their lullaby “Gravity of the Heart”.
Thanks so much for visiting the site and listening. We’ll be back again in March, with spring upon us.
A Wonderful FNC. Thanks.
